6:12PM - Thank God for the Great White North

Well, The Americans are certainly something. They re-elect a man who destroyed their economy, sacrificed over 1000 lives for a unneccesary war and is about to take his country back into the dark ages. Thank god we dont have that in Canada, I will vote Liberal in every election for the rest of my life if it means keepin an Bushesque idealogue from taking power here. Its really a shame that the most important and influential nation on earth is going so far backwards, and that the people dont seem to care. 51% of the people voted for Bush. He got more votes then other president in American History!!!!!!!!. Im pretty much speechless. So thats it for today. Friggin Americans

12:37AM - There's No Joy in Mudville

First off..woah...3 updates in a week. Weird. Anywho, if mudville is New York this is true for sure. But the playoffs have brought up two cool things. The first being that when a game is close in the playoffs baseball is pretty cool. Every pitch makes you hold your breath..its great. GO RED SOX!!!!!!. The second and much cooler aspect of it is how the players are reacting. Ill admit when their contracts are up and even in the Regular Season they can act like overpaid immature pre-madonnas But Damnit, in the playoffs they are kids again. Theyre 6 and they're on the sandlot again. Its a remarkable thing too see and is refreshing in pro sports. Oh, im skipping class tomorrow morning and its also the Season Premiere of the West Wing AND its reading week, so clearly tomorrow will KICKASS!

9:58PM - The Greatest Canadian

Well. Tonight was the premiere of the Greatest Canadian on CBC. After going through important historical figures like Stompin Tom and Shania, the list was narrowed down to a TOP 10. THere will be a bio on each of the top 10 in the coming weeks. So, the debate has to be. Rank the following in whatever order you feel they deserve to be in.

Fredrik Banting - invented insulin + refused to allow anyone to make a profit of the medication
Alexander Graham Bell - invented the telephone
Don Cherry - This isnt a joke. Unfortunatley
Tommy Douglas - created the idea of medicare. implemented it as Premier of Sask.
Terry Fox - ran nationwide to raise money for cancer. His name lives on in runs worldwide to this day.
Wayne Gretzky - not a joke either. at least he's a really good guy who has always been a huge patriotic Canadian
John A MacDonald - Our first PM. Linked our country from coast to coast by building the railway.
Lester Pearson - implemented medicare throughout the country, developed the idea of peacekeeping, implemented the CPP as well.
David Suzuki-environmentalist. host of the nature of things.
Pierre Trudeau -Implemented the Charter of Rights. Canadian Icon. Most famous PM.

SO there it is. So rank em.
P.S - IF cherry is higher then 10 on anyones list....you need help. real help.

12:11AM

Well, its been awhile. So here is, the first update in awhile. Im not going to make it an update on my life cause thats pointless, those who read it know whats going on. So, I figure I might reprise the old debate topic. However, ill have to talk a bit until I get an idea in my head. So off we go. Ok, here's something, Jean Chretien is a GIANT douche. I mean really, there is a family greiving the death of their husband, son and father cause that bastard Chretien bought cheap subs from Britain. It WRONG. NOTHING MORE THEN WRONG. Im no advocate for a billion dollar budget , but the blood of that man is on the hands of the Liberals. Unfortunatley our options in opposition are Stephen Harper and the prick Jack Layton. Our country sucks. I should be the PM. Really. Ok. damn. No topic is hitting me yet. So we move on. Oh..here is something uplifting..i have the best friends ever. I mean really, i know its sappy but i look at all the people i hang out with and they all rock. Im really lucky. ok, there is my sappy moment for the night. OH WAIT!!..I have an idea. Hopefully people actually talk about it. No fence sitting. Thats the rule. It was announced today, that the Canadian government has a 9 billion dollar suprlus (kiss my ass Dubya). How should these funds be distributed?

9:29PM - Hungry...damnit

Well here we are , updating at something other then four onth intervals. I know you're all so excited. Anywho, moving on. This weekend is going to suck. I have two essays due on monday that I havnt even started yet because I ha a 3500 wrd essay due yesterday and I had to raqd a 350 pg book by this evening. So hopefully I can get one of the essays out of the way tonight...but in all honesty I doubt it. Im watching the Leafs and Sens now. Its 4-3 Sens but it was once 4-0 Sens so there's still hope. Also I'm really hungry and it really sucks. I dont know what im going to make tho. So yeah I should probably go make something. Oh wait...I know what i can do...ye old debate topic...I havnt done that in awhile. What should we talk about....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............Oh I know...what do you all think about Youth Crime? How should we punish Youths under 18 who commit violent crime? Do they deserve a chance that adults wouldnt get?....Well...I'll leave it up to you. But Ill start with my own opinion.

As the people who read this know, i am a fairly moderate person, however as far as the criminal justice system goes I beleive we need a strong one. Violent crime shoul not be tolerated by society. I understand that there has to be a dsicrepency with those who are to young which I consider the early teen years up to abour 15. Anyone who is adult enough to kill or rob someone is old enough to suffer the consequences, they should be tried as adults and treated as such. THERE IS TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON THE KILLER IN THESE SITUATIONS AND HOW TO REHABILITATE THEM.. WELL FUCK THEM...THROW THEM IN THE JAIL AND LET THEM SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES . THE RIGHTS OF THE VICITM MUST BE RECLAIMED.

However the most important of them is still in Toronto and she's the bestestestestetest and we'll see her on friday so that'll be really good.

BUT...we can still have one more debate topic before the wek begins..
WHAT DON YOU HONESTLY THINK ABOUT THE UNITED STATES?..be as broad in your support or critacisms as you want..have fun jamie

And i just remembered that i have a presentation on Wednseday...dammit. Other then that not a whole lot is going on. People are tricklking back to Peterborough starting tomorrow so thats good and the Leafs won their 2nd game in a row and have moved their record to an acceptable 3-2-2. Oh well heres the debate topic for the day
Is it important for Canada to re-invest in the military?

Personally I fel that it is not truly necessary. The reinvestment should go as far as too make equipment safe enough to use, other then that there are more important aras which need attention before the Canadian military

10:49PM

Well I was thinking about lj and the frequency in which i use it. By looking at the dates anyone can see that the first week was quite a post-a-rama. However although i do post on a frequent basis it has tailed off. So Ive decided to post every day with a debate topic for the day. Also ll continue to post on the menial events of my existnce so that you can all stay enthralled.

Topic#1
CAN YOU BE IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE WITHOUT ACTUALLY BEING WITH THEM?
Now before i get ppl saying of course you can, actually think about it. Think about what you think the word "love" really means and how loosley its used and if it can be used to describe a person you in, a way, dont know, and by dont know i dont even mean a physical relationship rather just being emotionally close to a person who reciprocates the felings even if they are not at the same level as your own .....so go ahead and drop your thoughts

Oh and yeah..im good...nothing happened since the last post , except kristins back and now theres a witness...forget i wrote that

Well I havn't updated in awhile so i figured it was time to update again. Well it's officially Reading Week. Its monday so i should, in thoery be doing work. Well theory shmerie. I had a realy good weekend. On Friday I just hung out and watched some t.v so thats alwasys good. On Saturday I went to Champs with Irish and met Kate,Knapper and Nicole there. 11:12PM - Molly

Well in my last post i only mentioned Molly once so she deserves an entire post devoted to her. Molly is the bestestestestest. Really..if all people strived to be like Molly the world would be perfect. She is my hero...by far the most amazig person ive ever met, and i have the honour, no the outright privilage of being her friend. I wake up every morning thanking God that I am lucky enough to know her. I am even lucky enough to have her visit me next week....how blessed am I?..i am the luckiest person on earth

10:24PM - ITS READING WEEK!!!!!!!!!

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY..Its Reading Week...soooooooo im happy...no class for 10 days so I can actually get caught up on all the stuff ive been slacking off on over the last couple of weeks. Also Molly is coming on tuesday I think so that'll be fun. Im in the midddle of typing medieval panorama notes so thats not exciting at all, so i figured id take a break and update the old lj. This weekend is gonna be a quiet one in which i will attempt to get a lot of work done as no one will be aorund, next week when people start to filter back to Peterborough may be sketchy. No news in my lif...my Dads out of the hospital and seems to be in good shape. As much as its nice to see Reading Wek i cannot help but be a little bit depressed. The PC's and Alliance have merged to form a new party. Now I understand that it is necessary to unite the right but i can;t help but feel sorry for the old Tories. Men and Women wh devoted their entire life to a party, only to see it be destroyed in a matter of weeks. I guess its all in the name of progress but its still sad to see the death of Canadian institution. Whether or not you supported them everyone should recognize the contribution they made to Canadian Society....fromJohnA Macdonald to R.B Bennet to Joe Clark to Jean Charest and back to Joe again they helped build the Canada that exists today.
